Whale Tails Tortilla Chips Create a Splash at
Surfrider Foundation's Beach Cleanup Event

San Diego, June 21, 2006 — The Beach Cleanup in San Diego on Wednesday June 21 in recognition of International Surfing Day put a spotlight the need for maintaining one of San Diego's most precious resources, it's beaches and bays. Strolling through the group of dedicated volunteers it was hard not to notice folks munching on Whale Tails Tortilla Chips.

Our Whale Tails slogan is “Better for Dipping by Natural Design” and more than a couple hungry beach clean up volunteers put them to the test in bowls of guacamole and they did find them better for dipping. Their Whale Tail Chips held a “boat load” (pun intended) of dip which proved how functional they really are.

Bill Hickman, Chapter Coordinator for San Diego County Surfrider, said “The event was great. The Whale Tails Chips were a big hit.” Alan Honadle, Chairman of Surfrider San Diego, added “Its an inspiration to see a business with a conscience. Hope to see you at more events soon, Thanks.”

In addition to Whale Tails Tortilla Chips and burritos from Wahoo Fish Tacos, the Surfrider Foundation volunteers at the beach cleanups received a free ticket to the San Diego County Fair. The theme this year for the San Diego County Fair is "Ride the Tide to Fun," which will promote the importance of watersheds to the county.

The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education. Anyone can sign up to become a Surfrider Foundation Member. Go to www.surfridersd.org for more information.

Whale Tails Tortilla Chips were happy to provide The Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter a tasty donation to their worthwhile event.
